If you are into denim, you will know to loathe heavy weight denims. They hard to break-in and uncomfortable at times due to its heavy weight nature. That’s not to mention it is never stretchable. Stretchability and heavy denim are like water and oil; they never mix, or so we thought. Kojima Genes, the denim apparel maker behind NASA tech-infused jeans, think it may have cracked this age-old denim lovers’ woe with the label’s 21OZ Stretch Denim. This pair of denim jeans here is super heavy, but yet it touts stretchability which you don’t see up till now. Continue reading Kojima Genes 21OZ Stretch Denim: Finally, Heavy Denim Is Stretchable!
2017 is the year when fashion is out to make a statement. Or if you read in another way, it is the year where designers ran out of practical ideas and hence, it results in stuff like fake mud-coated jeans, clear knee jeans, and now, an entirely transparent pair of jeans. Yup. Transparent jeans is a thing now and the outfit that made it a reality (not that it was in existence in fantasy) is none other than Top Shop. Who knows? Perhaps transparent knee was so questionable that it ended being a hit and if so, how do you outdo yourself? Well, going all-out transparent, of course! Nordstrom is no stranger to expensive fashion, but as it seems, the fashion retail giant has a penchant for the weird and quirky products too. After trying to sell you a 85 bucks rock, Nordstrom again made headline and this time it’s for selling a pair of fake mud-coated jeans for a cool $425. What makes this so hilarious and a sure-fire headliner are the price tag and the mud. The controversial feature (if you can call it a feature at all) of the jeans, called Barracuda Straight Leg Jeans, is what Nordstrom described as “caked-on muddy coating” on top of the “heavily distressed” denim that supposedly embodies “rugged, Americana workwear that’s seen some hard-working action.” Continue reading $425 Mud-coated Jeans, Because You Shouldn’t Have To Work For Mud
I live in a region where temperatures are more-than-warm most of the time which gives me a reason to ditched jeans in favor of shorts. Seriously, having a thick fabric wrapped around your legs in this area is crazy, but that may change with Kojima Genes x SF Project denim. Kojima Genes is a Japanese label and its Kojima Genes x SF Project denim is something of a technological advancement in apparel. How so? They are the first ever jeans made from space technology infused denim. Called OUTLAST, this advanced textile technology was originally developed by NASA to protect astronauts from the extreme temperature fluctuations while in outer space. Have you ever wonder what the small pocket on jeans is actually for? I have, but never gotten to find out until now. This seemingly unimportant stitched slot has come a long way and as far as modern folks are concerned, it is a handy holding place for a variety of small stuff like coins, loose keys, lighters and even flash drive and Bluetooth tracker. However, when it was first conceived by the grandaddy of Jeans, Levi Strauss Co., it was actually designed to hold pocket watches. When jeans first appeared in 1873, most men carried pocket watches and hence, that little pocket there served as an easy-access placeholder to the timepiece of choice of that era. remember the smartphone-friendly I/O Denim? it turns out that it is not the only made-for-smartphone jeans in the market. in fact, Croatia-based WTFJEANS (you got to love this name, don’t you?) has been around since 2009 and is an awesome alternative if you are looking for an apparel that is designed with your smartphone in mind. WTFJEANS up the ante by not just having a WTFPocket to nest your small smart device, but also one that features a specially designed WTFShield that keeps any EMF radiation from getting to your body. this may come as a pleasant news for dudes who are constantly worried about the radio wave that might be doing harm to, erhmm, you know what. though there is no conclusive study to show the effect of this small doses of EMF radiation to our body, it is still good to know that you are protected anyway. now here is the deal: usually we don’t feature jeans here, but this pair of Roy 11oz Denim “Big Bro” Jeans from Roy Slaper looks so rocking cool that we felt it would be criminal not to feature it. this pair of denim is crafted from a newly developed 11oz per square yard (in raw state, that is) lightweight fabric that has a very vintage feel and shade to it. with its 100 percent pure indigo dyed warp yarns and unbleached natural cotton for the weft yarns, this pair of denim kind of reminiscent of the old school Deeptone denim Cone found in the early 40s. we will be honest with you, this pair ain’t cheap by any means, so it would only be right for us to let you in on what you will be getting if you drop $360 for it. yes. 360 green backs in all. made no mistake there, folks.
