The first-ever Transformers Masterpiece combiner is taking shape. Joining the MPG-01 Shouki, MPG-02 Getsuei, and MPG-03 Yukikaze is Transformers Trainbot MPG-04 Suiken.
The Takara Tomy Transformers Masterpiece MPG-04 Suiken is a robot disguised as a Tokai-type 153 Express locomotive and it forms the left arm of the Raiden combiner.
In addition to standard issues like the train track pieces and Suiken’s standard issue weapon, the MPG-04 will come with Raiden’s weapon Train Bazooka which can also be attached to the left leg in combine mode.
Do not expect it to be clean like in the cartoon series. It won’t be. If you want the toon-accurate look, you have to look elsewhere (such as the Moon Studio or even the G1 original toys if you can find them) but this being a component of the first-ever Masterpiece Combiner, it may be worth collecting (which is what I am doing).
The price though is not very wallet-friendly like its fellow Trainbot. It commands 19,800 yen which works out to be around US$136 based on today’s going rate.
The Takara Tomy Transformers Masterpiece MPG-04 Suiken will arrive sometime in late June of 2023.
