Cybertruck is not for everyone. But I am all for it, as I am for any convention-breaking design. Well, mostly. If you look at the trucks around you. RAM Trucks, Ford F150, Nissan Frontier, Toyota Hilux – you name it – all look the same. Even the cutting-edge Rivian R1T‘s design does not stray far from a typical pickup truck design. Let’s face it. Most people cannot accept change. The same thing when Apple revealed that its first smartphone was keyboardless. The industry was flabbergasted.

OK, maybe for the sake of pedestrians’ safety, the comparatively sharp edges of a Cybertruck are not the best but it does feel like the future is here. I love it and love it even more if Hoonigan actually whips up a Hoonitruck based on it. But until Hoonigan decided to do so, we can only drool over this rendered Cybertruck Hoonitruck Concept designed by artist Jon Sibal (@jonsibal).

Like the original truck it is based on, the Cybertruck Hoonitruck Concept is not for everyone. It is either you love it or hate it. There is no in-between. I am of course loving it.

Jon turned the Cybertruck into a slammed race truck, complete with a widebody kit consistence with the geometric lines of the vehicle. The sloping bed section provides the perfect silhouette for the sports truck that ends with a ducktail spoiler and a huge-ass diffuser down below.

If you ever wonder what a slammed, super widebody Cybertruck will look like, well, wonder no more. Just look at Jon’s concept.

The Cybertruck Hoonitruck Concept is not a new work by the artist; it was a concept done way before Ken’s untimely demise. Jon even showed the man himself what he had done. Anyhoo, Jon reshared his work on his Instagram page last January upon learning the man’s pasting.
