This collectible is not for those who take life too seriously. I can’t imagine any serious person would be amused by Mona Lisa or The Girl with a Pearl Earring picking the nose. Probably not. The Art Of Picking: Van Gogh by Po Yun Wang is a collectible parody figure for folks who are receptive to a classic art with a (humorous) twist. It is definitely not an art masterpiece and The Art Of Picking: Van Gogh by Po Yun Wang looks nothing like the master painter himself but it is a fun parody figure that will be a conversational piece for sure. Nick Cage should have collected art like this one instead of those real deals that made all-so-broke.
Anyways, The Art Of Picking: Van Gogh by Po Yun Wang comes with three interchangeable hands including one holding the flower from the iconic masterpiece, Sunflowers, a pair of paintbrushes, and an open palm hand delicately holding the fabled ear – you know, the one he sliced off on his own accord.
But do not be distracted by the hand; take your time to admire the fiery orange hair and the blue outfit and the natural shadows cast on his clothes, done in a way that emulates the master’s brush strokes. That, my friends, is the real beauty of this collectible vinyl figure. OK, maybe also the nose-picking.
This figure was sculpted based on the Dutch Post-impressionist’s self-portrait in which he wore a suit instead of the usual pea coat. The Art Of Picking: Van Gogh by Po Yun Wang is a vinyl bust figure that measures 7.1 inches (18 cm).
