Good news for fans of 60s macabre-themed TV shows like The Addams Family and The Munsters. The latter has been turned into a movie by Rob Zombie. The movie is produced, written, and directed by the musician, songwriter, and director who is best known for his direction of the 2007 Halloween movie reboot and his band White Zombie.

The Munsters (2022) Movie by Rob Zombie

Rob Zombie, who is a long-time fan of the television series, has always wanted to turn The Munsters into a feature film and now he finally did. Zombie said the character designs would be faithful to the source material, and the film is shot at an exact replica of the Mockingbird Lane Mansion, built from the ground up for the movie.

The film is tipped to be rated PG, which is so unlike Rob’s string of movies. But that kind of makes sense since the original wasn’t filled with gore and violence. The Munsters (2022) is slated to release in 2022 on the Universal Pictures All-Access channel. Meanwhile, here is the teaser trailer:
