The wait is over, my fellow Transformers fans!—Hasbro’s Transformers Studio Series 86 Devastator is finally here in prototype form, and it’s almost as if they brought a giant, toon-accurate robot right out of our nostalgic memories. Okay, maybe not as “accurate” as some third-party Legends-scale toys, but oh my Primus! who’s counting rivets anyways?

The big green brute (or gray for now) looks imposing, standing just a little taller than Legacy Evolution Menasor, although it looks like he may share Menasor’s short-leg issue. But hey, if aftermarket kits can fix Menasor, maybe there’s hope for Devastator’s stubbiness, too. The aftermarket kit is what I did for my Legacy Menasor, btw. He looks great now.
Two first members of the Constructicons are up for pre-order: Scrapper, the right leg and the leader, and Bonecrusher, Devastator’s left arm. Scrapper’s the bulkier one here at 6.5 inches (16.5 cm), sporting a shiny Voyager Class badge and transforming between robot and front-end loader in 17 steps.
Not to be outdone, Bonecrusher is 4.5 inches (11.4 cm), a Deluxe Class figure that goes from robot to bulldozer in 16 steps. Both figures are impressively articulated, which means plenty of poses, whether you’re staging a battle or trying to balance them like kids in a bot gym.

For fans eyeing the full set, the release schedule is a bit of a journey. Scrapper and Bonecrusher hit the shelves in April 2025, with the mighty Long Haul and Hook arriving as a double pack in July. The two-pack price is US$89.99, which math is not mathing here but for good reasons. Designer Evan assures us that it comes with all the extras, like chest plates and accessories, to pull off that classic Devastator look. Finally, in September, Scavenger and Mixmaster will complete the lineup, and if you’ve done the math, your shelves (and wallet) should be fully stocked with Constructicon goodness by the end of next year.
Scrapper and Bonecrusher are ready for pre-order now, retailing at US$34.99 and US$24.99, respectively. Oh, in case you are hoping for a gift pack, i.e. 6-in-1 pack, well, according to the designer, it is not going to happen at least a year or two after all the members have hit the market. So, now you know.
