Transformers x Bingo Sports Race Car and Optimus Prime Action Figure

When it comes to celebrating 40 years of Transformers, Takara Tomy is all in. The company is thoroughly invested, extending its celebratory efforts to include toys, exhibitions, collaborative non-toy products, and now, even motorsports. In a partnership with BINGO SPORTS and Callaway Competition, Takara Tomy is bringing Transformers to the racetrack. A Corvette C7 GT3-R race car will sport the Optimus Prime look from Age of Extinction and The Last Knight as it competes in the Japan Cup (Fanatec GT World Challenge Asia powered by AWS).

But it’s not just the race car that’s receiving a Transformers-themed makeover; the pit stop interior, crew uniforms, racing suits, and even the race car transporter will also feature designs inspired by the beloved franchise. The official reveal page lets us have the first look at the racing suit which will feature images from the Japanese Transformers comics.

The Transformers x BINGO SPORTS Corvette C7 GT3-R race car will debut in four races, starting with the event at Sportsland SUGO on June 8-9, 2024. For those interested in the full schedule, it’s available HERE [JP].

Not surprisingly, in true Transformers fashion, where there are cars, there must be toy counterparts. Scheduled for a winter 2024 release is the Transformers BINGO SPORTS Optimus Prime toy. This collectible transforms from an officially licensed Corvette C7 GT3-R race car into the iconic Autobot leader, Optimus Prime. While it may not be the most aesthetically pleasing model to all fans, it’s sure to be a hit with collectors. Or maybe not. I don’t know. It is recommended for kids aged 8 and up though. Takara Tomy will begin accepting pre-orders in early summer 2024, with pricing details to be announced.
