Urbetter M8 E-Scooter for You and Your Pet

At this point, the electric scooter is a dime a dozen. Despite it being the case, there isn’t one designed with you and your pet in mind. Well, that’s until now. Folks, meet the Urbetter M8 E-Scooter, a multi-purpose electric scooter for you and your pet, or maybe for groceries (or six-packs) if your pet isn’t coming along for the ride.

Even if your furry is along for the ride, there are still a couple of other storages for your other stuff. The Urbetter M8 E-Scooter’s storage is not limited to the storage box in which fido or kitty can hitch a ride; it also has side storage, in the form of side bags, too. The main storage box can be collapsed and stored in between the frames when not in use.

Besides being super practical, Urbetter M8 E-Scooter is also good-looking too – thanks to the dune buggies-inspired tubular frame. The tubular frame does not just look rugged; it is actually robust and durable for even bumpy surfaces, and it has a pretty impressive payload of up to 250 lbs (113.4 kg).

Urbetter M8 E-Scooter is powered by a 350W motor, affording it up to 30 km/h (18 mph) top speed, and paired to a 518.4 Wh battery good for up to 45 km (28 miles) range.

Urbetter M8 said it has a bunch of battery safety features, including over-heat protection, short-circuit protection, over-voltage protection, over-current protection, et cetera.

It is IP55 rated construction, with the storage box made of waterproof materials, and is made from 6061 aluminum. The result is a fairly lightweight 16.2 kilograms (36 lbs). I said fairly. I would say not nearly light enough to be hauled around like nobody’s business but light enough to be picked up and placed somewhere like, you know, the trunk.

Other notables include the ability to make up to 15 degrees inclination, 10-inch puncture-resistance pneumatic tires, a multi-function LCD display, 300 lumens headlight, flashing LED taillight, 3 seconds quick fold, 4 riding modes, wide foot pedals on either side, electronic brake (rear), e-ABS regenerative anti-locking brake system (front), and an adjustable saddle with hydraulic shock for ride comfort.

Speaking of the seat, it can be easily removed to convert it from an e-bike to an e-scooter.

If you are keen, you may join the 100 plus backers on Kickstarter to pre-order a unit for 714 Canadian dollars or more (or about US$572, according to Kickstarter). The campaign is funded, btw.

But as always, this is a crowdfunded product that has its risks. So, perhaps it is worth doing your own due diligence and be your own judge.
