Volvo is not exactly synonymous with performance rides. Safety, for sure, but certainly, not in the performance department. Though they are by no means slouch in that aspect. However, the Swede automaker sure knows a thing or two about sporty looks, which is what its R-Design models are about. Today, another two rides join the R-Design lineup and they are none other than the S90 sedan and V90 estate aka station wagon.
Expect to be greeted by a new front-end design with spoiler-integrated fog lights, unique grille, piano black trim on front and rear, a set of 5-spoke matte black diamond-cut wheels and on the inside, unique deco trim, pedals and mats, “high level interior illumination package, along with sport contour seats and special steering wheel welcomes its occupants.
But looks is not the only thing the S90 and V90 R-Design has to offer; what you do not see is an advanced sport chassis that promised to deliver “an energetic, road-hugging drive.” No surprisingly, the drivetrain for both remains the same. According to the official press release, both S90 and V90 R-Design models are open for pre-order, though, it fails to mention how much they will cost you.
A check on Volvo US website, turns up nothing and the same goes to the Sweden’s website. So, we are assuming you will need to check with your local dealers for availability and pricing. In the meantime, feast your eyes with some official imageries of the ‘sportified’ S90 sedan and V90 estate.
