Well, what do you know? Maserati wants a piece of the ocean too. During the launch of the new Folgore family member, the GranCabrio Folgore, the Italian automaker also reveal a boat. It is not just any boat, btw. It is an electric boat designed by Maserati and featuring marine tech by Vita Power.
The Maserati TRIDENTE, as it is called, is a luxury, all-electric powerboat (read: speedboat). The 10.5-meter (34-foot) watercraft is designed with lake and coastal day cruising in mind. It is powered by two electric motors, delivering 600 horsepower in total, and paired with a 252 kWh lithium-ion battery that recharges in under an hour via DC charging.
Each electric drive powers a propeller that can power the watercraft to a cruising speed of 25 knots (46 km/h or 29 mph) and a top speed of 40 knots (74 km/h or 46 mph).
At a glance, it may not look like a big boat but the Maserati TRIDENTE Electric Speedboat has seats for 8 in a cockpit. What’s even more amazing is that said cockpit can be configured for dining or acceleration.
It further features a sundeck, a bathing area with a shower, a ladder for getting in and out of the water, and an enclosed cabin forward that has a day berth and a toilet. I know right? This thing is like a sparrow. It may be small but it has everything and then some.
The vessel is constructed in light-weight carbon fiber by specialist superyacht tender builder, Hodgdon Yachts. We are not aware of the availability and the price.
