Fans of Transformers probably already see this coming. One of the most beloved G1 Transformers characters is joining the Kotobukiya BISHOUJO series of vinyl figures. The Kotobukiya BISHOUJO Transformers Bumblebee Vinyl Figure is the third in the series after Kotobukiya BISHOUJO Transformers Optimus Prime and Megatron vinyl figures from last year.

Not going to lie. While the previous two figures leaned towards the sexualization of women, the Kotobukiya BISHOUJO Transformers Bumblebee Vinyl Figure does not feel like so. If anything, human girl Bumblebee is anime adorable in a sporty outfit. The figure wears an avant-garde hoodie in Bumblebee yellow that features an oversized hoodie with horns, “eyes”, and the forehead motif.

The form of Bumblebee bot mode is also cleverly incorporated into this radical outfit, including loose socks and rounded shoes that offer more volume to mimic the look of G1 Bee’s legs and of course, the front section of the vehicle mode as the shoes.

The getup is completed by an inner light blue outfit and belt, and an Autobot logo on the hoodie. For those who are into the details, you may want to know that the designs of the hems on the arm covers and shorts are integrated into the mold for the body.

As before, the character, which stands approximately 217 mm (8.54″) tall, is stylized by Shunya Yamashita and presented as a pre-painted PVC figure with ABS material, sculpted by Tsubame, on a base of an Autobot logo in a metallic finish.

The Kotobukiya BISHOUJO Transformers Bumblebee Vinyl Figure is set to hit the market in August 2023 (for the Japan market) and it is available for pre-order in Japan now for 17,600 yen (or about US$135 today). Big Bad Toy Store is also taking pre-orders for the figure (US$149.99).
