Casio simply can’t get enough of collaboration and this particular one, announced on the 18th, is sure to appeal to snowboarding enthusiasts. Casio G-Shock has teamed up with snowboard brand, Burton Snowboards, to release a limited edition Mudmaster timepiece, reference GGB100BTN-1A.
Can I just say something? Strange that Mudmaster has gotten the snow sports treatment. You know, Mudmaster? With a name like that and superior sealing against mud infiltration, the British Army collab makes more sense.
Anyways, not that the master of mud can’t handle the tough snowy conditions. It totally can. Just nitpicking here a little. So don’t mind me.
The most prominent design feature of the Casio G-Shock x Burton Mudmaster Watch would be the band with snow-covered tree camouflage pattern from the British Columbia forests, inspired by the world of world-renowned snowboard photographer, Dean Blotto Gray.
The nice thing about collabs of recent years is, they are not just saying it is a collab and throwing some colors to the products.
Like the KITH and more recently, the Bruce Lee model, it actually has Burton’s branding, including debossed on the case back, etched on the band keeper and on the watch face, you can spot ‘Burton’ on it. Granted, that part may be obscured depending on the time of the day.
Rounding up the Burton-treatment is the requisite custom packaging, featuring the unique snowy mountain pattern found on the watch band, along with the usual logos of the two brands.
On the timepiece features and specs aspect, you get a Carbon Core Guard Structure, three-layered carbon-insert bezel that is mud and debris resistant, slip-resistance large textured buttons that plays well with gloves, plus the usual G-Shock Mudmaster staples.
No details on how “limited” is this limited edition. The GGB100BTN-1A will sell for $440. The timepiece was supposed to be available starting today (February 21) at Macy’s, select fashion boutiques and jewelers, G-Shock Soho Store, Burton flagship stores, gshock.com and Burton Snowboards web store.
