Fender 2020 Evangelion Asuka Telecaster

You got yourself the Evangelion guitar amp and pedal, and soon, you will be able to rock the complete Evangelion-themed musical instrument setup with the Fender 2020 Evangelion Asuka Telecaster.

The Fender 2020 Evangelion Asuka Telecaster will be released in celebration of the theatrical release of the new Evangelion movie, which have since been postponed until further notice.

The movie maybe postponed, but the guitar is dropping in July regardless and it will be available throughout 2020.

As the product name implies, the guitar colorway is inspired the plug suit of EVA Unit-02 operator, the second child, Asuka Langley Sohryu. The plug suit design is based on the design of Kazuya Tsuramaki, the director of the Evangelion 3.0 + 1.01.

Further evidence EVA Unit-02 and Evangelion association is an “EVA 2” inlay at the 12th fret, plus a NERV logo at the base of the guitar neck, around the back. In addition, aluminum is utilized on the pickups to offer the mechanical feel and look.

The package includes the telecaster, an ABS molded hard case decorated with NERV logo, as well as a certificate with the number of the guitar and an image of Asuka with the guitar.

Fender 2020 Evangelion Asuka Telecaster will sell for a grand 250,00 yen plus tax (about $2,340+) when it drops in July to the Japan market.

But fans outside of Japan need not be dejected. Fender Custom Shop will be offering an Asuka Telecaster Type 00, hand built by master builder Dale Wilson, to the rest of the world. Details, including availability and pricing, will be announced on Fender official website. So, keep your eyes peeled.
