Ferrari 12Cilindri 2-Seater Berlinetta and Spider

Ferrari has recently revealed a completely new model, Ferrari 12Cilindri, in Miami Beach. The reveal also coincides with the Italian automaker’s 70 years of presence in America. As the model name implies, it is a 12-cylinder ride. The design is heavily influenced by the Prancing Horse marque’s Gran Turismo cars from the 50s and 60s but while so, it is anything but retro. OK. Maybe a little (retro).

The Ferrari 12Cilindri is the first Ferrari that actually looks futuristic. Almost concept car-like, if you will. It has a fastback design with a glass roof that swoops low in the back and it has a striking black band on the front with a single wraparound band headlight on either end – you know, the kind of headlights you’d expect of cars of the future.

The 12Cilindri boasts sophisticated design and advanced aerodynamics, with features like an integrated active aerodynamic device, a front-hinged hood, dual exhaust pipes, and a spacious cockpit. The car is not only a nod to the iconic touring vehicles from the 1950s and 1960s; it is also a tribute to the first Ferrari powertrain: the naturally aspirated, mid-front-mounted V12.

The Ferrari 12Cilindri is a front-engined Berlinetta powered by a modern naturally-aspirated 6,496 cc V12 engine with a unique to Ferrari’s 65-degree bank angle. This latest evolution of its iconic NA V12 engine produces an impressive 830 hp at a high-revving 9,250 RPM and develops 678 Nm (500 lb-ft) of torque at 7,250 RPM. The RPM maxes out at 9,500 RPM.

Paired with an 8-speed DCT and backed by a bunch of electronic controls, it wipes the century sprint (0-100 km/h; 0-62 mph) in just 2.9 seconds and gets from zero to 200 km/h (124 mph) is under 7.9 seconds. The top speed is over 340 km/h (211 mph). Stopping power is equally impressive; its brake-by-wire can pull the vehicle to stop from 100-0 km/h (62-0 mph) in 31.4 meters (103 feet) and 200-0 km/h (124-0 mph) in 122 meters (400 feet).
