If you need an electric bicycle that doesn’t scream “hey, look! I am an electric bike!”, then perhaps Gazelle Arroyo C8 HMB Elite might of your interest. Why? Because this new Bosch-equipped Gazelle eBike has bagged the prestigious iF Design Award 2019. But really, you don’t need the panel of judges with an eye for design excellence at iF Design to tell you that the Gazelle Arroyo C8 HMB Elite is indeed a worthy eBike (but it is a good affirmation nonetheless).
I mean, seriously, just look at this handsome two-wheeler. It looks nothing like an electric bicycle, but in reality it is (an electric bike) and that, folks, is the beauty of the Arroyo C8 HMB Elite. It looks like a classic bicycle with sleek lines, and with performance to boot. Subtlety is what makes this a thing of desire. Key highlights of Gazelle Arroyo C8 HMB Elite include:
• Lightweight suspension in the front fork and seat post for optimum comfort
• Wide tires to further boost ride comfort
• Extra powerful and silent mid-mounted Bosch Active Line Plus motor
• Bosch PowerTube 500 battery integrated into frame for a seamless look
• Lights – beautifully integrated into front fender – with extra powerful beams
The Bosch Active Line Plus offers 50 Nm on the tap and when paired to the 500 Wh battery, it provides effortless riding over any terrain at up to 20 miles an hour (32 km/h) and for up to 100 miles (160 kilometers) of range. What surprises us was, despite feature packed, it weighs in at just 49.8 lbs (23 kilograms). I guess, you can thank the many aluminum used.
Other details you may interest you include Selle Royal Loire saddle, plastic chain, Rodi Vision 28-inch wheels, integrated certified lock, Bosch Purion LCD, rim brake with hydraulic control front and back, hub gear with 8 gears, and a variety of sensors, including rotation, speed and pedal force sensor.
Gazelle Arroyo C8 HMB Elite is available, in three colors (Navy Blue, Grace Silver and Petrol Green) to configure as we speak with a starting sticker of $3,599.
