Good news, super fans of Power Rangers! The Dino Megazord figure that toymaker GilgalToys has been teasing has finally launched. But the officially licensed Dino Megazord, the GilgalToys Power Rangers Dino Megazord MetalPro Figure, may not be for everyone, to be honest.
How so? Well, it is one huge action figure that cannot be separated into the five individual robot dinosaurs. But in return, you get a collectors’ worthy intricate die-cast model that towers at an impressive 50 cm (19.7 inches) which boasts multiple articulations, and magnetic activated light-up features including the eyes, shoulder armors, forearms, legs, double cannons, and the shield.
The figure is supplied with a host of accessories including the iconic Power Sword, the Mammoth Shield aka the head of the Mastodon Dinozord, two pairs of interchangeable hands, and a display base with a support stand for displaying the figure in a variety of classic poses.
Rounding up the package are five small Power Rangers figures you can display on the included special 30th-anniversary base. That’s right. This model is part of the Power Rangers 30th anniversary which was supposed to be in 2023. Though technically it is within the 30th anniversary since it was created in August 1993.
Books are now open for the GilgalToys Power Rangers Dino Megazord MetalPro Figure with a special pre-sale price of 3,099 yuan, which is around 428 USD. The retail price is 3,599 yuan or about 497 USD, btw. Not cheap. But then again, this ain’t no kids’ toy.
The pre-sale price is valid during the pre-sale period (duh) which is between March 28, 2024, and May 27, 2024. There’s another catch. This product is not confirmed for the market. GilgalToys said that it will be canceled if the production numbers are not met by June 30. As a consolation, in the event it is canceled, buyers will get their deposit (which is 900 yuan, or around 124 USD) back.
If all goes well, the figure is expected to start shipping in Q3 of 2025. Yep. More waiting.
You should be able to order this big guy from the Chinese e-commerce store, taobao.com [CH], but if you can’t, Big Bad Toy Store is taking pre-orders. But expect to pay a premium for it.
