Where else the animatronic Hulkbuster by Comicave Studios is still in the prototyping stage, Hot Toys iteration of the green beast’s ass-kicking exoskeleton suit is already open for pre-order, but not without a catch; the pre-order will only be fulfil sometime in Q2 2016, That’s a good one year from now and who’s knows? Super Alloy Hulkbuster might be ready by then. Then again, since Hot Toys’ version won’t be made out of “Super Alloy” and is at half the size of the animatronic example, it is definitely more ‘affordable’ than the 4-foot steel beast, though is still cost a mighty $824.99. By no means cheap even by the standard of serious collectors. At 1/6 scale, Hot Toys Iron Man Hulkbuster stands a towering 21 inches (55 centimeters or nearly 2 feet) tall.
While that number may not stack up to robotic version we saw recently, it is still as impressive, nonetheless. And would make the perfect piece to complete the epic Hulkbuster vs Hulk fight scene diorama in your home, if you so desire. Of course, you will need a relatively deep pocket to pull that one off cos’ the Hulk alone will run you back at $275. But it is worthy to note that Hulkbuster’s colossal price tag does come with some pretty neat features apart from the sheer size and includes a Mark XLIII bust, complete with LED light-up eyes and arc reactor on the chest, snuggle inside it. The rest of Hulkbuster sports a weathered look (we prefer to call it ‘battle-hardened look’, actually) on its hand-painted metallic red, gold and silver armor, which also happen to boast over 16 LED light-up areas, including the eyes, chest, repulsor palms, back and legs.
Other worthy mentions include chest opens to reveal the said Mark XLIII bust, over 30 points of articulations, openable shoulder armors, interchangeable neck armor (for when displaying the Mark XLIII) bust, removable forearm armors, and hands with articulated fingers and light-up repulsors. If you can’t wait for the animatronic example (which should take significantly longer to hit the market, attributed by the complexity), or you, like us, have already foresee it to carry a prohibitive five-figure price tag, then you may want to consider inducting the 1/6 scale, plastic variant into your Marvel Superheroes Hall of Fame. Keep going for a few more look.
