IKEA VAPPEBY Bluetooth Speaker Lamp

Following IKEA Sonos Bluetooth speaker/speaker lamps, SYMFONISK, and the launch of its own Bluetooth speaker, ENEBY, IKEA is introducing a new Bluetooth speaker lamp.

IKEA VAPPEBY Bluetooth Speaker Lamp

The VAPPEBY, as it is called, is a unique, lantern-style, portable desk lamp that is IP65-rated, making it both dust and water splash resistant, and it is the first Bluetooth speaker with Spotify Tap on the market.

It is outfitted with a rechargeable battery good for up to 12 hours – with lights on – on a single charge, has a built-in LED bulb with two different light modes, and delivers 360 sound.

In line with IKEA’s Scandinavian influence, VAPPEBY is minimalistic styling with clean lines. There are three buttons on the lamp, with the main power button doubling as a Spotify Tap button that lets you “wake up” Spotify from the connected device.

Spotify will pick up where it last left off when the button is pressed. Press again, Spotify will generate new music based on your listening preferences.

The VAPPEBY will, of course, work with other streaming services, as well as audio stored locally on the connected device.

The IKEA VAPPEBY Bluetooth Speaker Lamp will arrive in most IKEA markets, in a choice of blue and grey, starting April 2022. Price is to be advised. It is worthy to note that the Spotify Tap function will be available in all Spotify markets, which basically means everywhere since Spotify is available in over 180 countries.
