Pardon me for not getting this out sooner. I was too caught up figuring out a real estate space of 3.27 square-feet (0.3 square-meter) within my tiny abode to fit the soon-to-be-available LEGO 75290 Star Wars Mos Eisley Cantina construction set.
That’s how big the set is and yes, official words have been released on this set, previously mistakenly posted by LEGO South Korea.
Based on what we hear the last time, we all know it is going to be a massive set aimed at adult fan of LEGO, packing a massive 3,187 pieces. However, what we didn’t realize was, the real estate it actually demands.
At 7.5 inches (19 cm) high, 20.5 inches (52 cm) wide and 23 inches (58 cm) deep (when open up), the LEGO 75290 Star Wars Mos Eisley Cantina requires more than a shelf space; this thing will need a desk of its own.
Mos Eisley Cantina is just about iconic as the movie itself and to have it in detailed LEGO form is no doubt a dream come true for fans like myself.
This LEGO-lized watering hole in Tatooine frequented by a mix of lifeforms that you don’t want to mess with features removable roof, attachable buildings, intricately decked out interiors, and hidden details only true Star Wars devotees will appreciate, including “Wanted” poster of R2-D2 and C-3PO, kyber crystals hidden in one of the exterior buildings.
The set includes a whopping 21 minifigures – of which 8 are brand new character minifigures, two landspeeders (one of which has never been built in LEGO), and the you-know-you-are-in-Tatooine when you see one, dewback LEGO Star Wars figure.
We noted that LEGO has described it as a “construction set”. I guess, it is set huge enough to be called as such.
LEGO 75290 Star Wars Mos Eisley Cantina Set is part of the Master Build series and it is recommended for ages 18+ and up which is defined as, in our books, a person old enough to have that kind of space and money.
With regard to the price, official number is not given, but based on our last report, it should €349.99 which is hella of pricey.
LEGO VIP members will be able to secure the LEGO 75290 Star Wars Mos Eisley Cantina Set starting September 16 while the rest can acquire it beginning October 1 from LEGO.com and LEGO Stores.
