LEGO Batman who already own the LEGO 1989 Batmobile will not want to miss this surprise LEGO Batman set, the LEGO 76161 DC Batman 1989 Batwing which is based on the Batwing as seen on the most iconic Batman movie of all time, Tim Burton’s 1989 Batman film.
The 76161 features a removable canopy for exploring the full interior and posable aerodynamic flaps. In addition to the obvious details, this adult collectible set also boasts finer details that only true fans of the 1989’s movie will appreciate. And that include a screen featuring The Joker’s gas balloons and a ‘Bat Engine” label on the vehicle’s engine.
LEGO 76161 1989 Batwing is a huge set that demands some serious shelf real-estate. It packs 2,363 pieces and measures a cool 20 inches (52 cm) long, 22 inches (58 cm wide), and 4 inches (11 cm) tall.
Fret not, however, for those who have run out of shelf-space because, the 76161 comes with a special brick that will allow you to mount and display the model on the wall as a wall art. Yep. This Batwing is also a wall art. I believe, that is the first for LEGO and I personally dig the idea.
The set will be accompanied by with three minifigures, including Bat himself, the Joker in an alternate costume, and a boombox goon, and a brick-built Gargoyle-adorned display stand.
Finally, rounding up the package is the mandatory stats plaque detailing the vehicle’s specifications.
Recommended for ages 18 and up, the LEGO 76161 Batwing will drop on November 1 for US$199.99. Prior to that, starting on October 21, LEGO VIP members will enjoy priority access to secure the set.
