The celebration of 25 years of the LEGO Star Wars collaboration didn’t stop at the wonderful midi-scale sets. But are you even surprised? Obviously, it wasn’t going to stop there. It’s the golden opportunity to coax hard-earned money out of fans’ wallets. That said, LEGO has officially revealed the new range of 25th anniversary LEGO Star Wars products, which includes a new LEGO Star Wars TIE Interceptor building set.
Well, I sure did see a new made-for-adult fan of LEGO TIE Interceptor coming. This is the second UCS TIE Interceptor, by the way. Additionally, LEGO announced that LEGO Star Wars content is coming to LEGO Fortnite starting May 3, 2024. Moreover, there is a LEGO Star Wars Coffee Table Book to commemorate this awesome collaboration.
Kicking off the building sets for the 25th year of the LEGO x Star Wars collaboration is the LEGO Star Wars TIE Interceptor building set, which packs 1,931 pieces for adult fans of LEGO to build a 40-centimeter (16-inch) long brick-built replica of the iconic Imperial spacecraft.
From the product images, this appears to be a more accurate representation of the TIE Interceptor, mainly because it does not have the blue elements which shouldn’t be on the TIE Interceptor to begin with. This is good news for those who do not have the time and skill to turn a LEGO UCS TIE Fighter into a proper-looking TIE Interceptor.
Also revealed is the Mos Espa Podrace Diorama straight out of Star Wars: The Phantom Menace. This 718-piece set lets you recreate the iconic scene of the podrace at Arch Canyon. Anakin’s Podracer diorama set is joined by Darth Maul’s Sith Infiltrator, the Droideka set, a BARC Speeder Escape, and a set of six LEGO Star Wars BrickHeadz figures featuring Jar Jar Binks, Anakin Skywalker, Queen Amidala, Captain Panaka, Qui-Gon Jinn, and Darth Maul.
It’s not all about The Phantom Menace in this wave of LEGO Star Wars to celebrate the 25 years of LEGO and Star Wars collaboration. Fans of Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith are not left out, as there is also a LEGO BrickHeadz Clone Commander Cody set.
As mentioned briefly earlier, LEGO Star Wars will join LEGO Fortnite as well. On May 3, LEGO Fortnite will welcome new LEGO Star Wars content.
Before that, on May 1, the LEGO Star Wars Coffee Table Book, “The Force of Creativity,” will be launched. This 312-page hardcover book will take fans on a journey through LEGO Star Wars with interviews from more than 50 LEGO Group contributors and Lucasfilm contributors. Expect to find development art and character designs on the pages.
