I guess this is a good news for fans of Sonic the Hedgehog. For the uninitiated, this LEGO Ideas submission was based on Sonia Mania video game by Sega, developed in commemoration of sonic the Hedgehog series’ 25th anniversary. It is a homage to the original Sega Genesis Sonic games.

So, yeah, it is another video game-based, interactive LEGO. I am curious if it will replicate the success of LEGO Mario.

For this project, LEGO is collaborating with Sega and Viv to bring one of the most iconic game characters and brands to life. LEGO sure is elated with this latest project. Excited enough for the Danish toy maker to put out an official press release.

The LEGO Ideas Sonic Mania: Green Hill Zone will not go into product development phase with partner, Sega. That said, the final look and features of the product are not set in stone yet.
