LEGO Minifig Cable Holder

surprise. surprise. for geeks out there who also happens to love LEGO: do you know that LEGO minifigures hands are also a prefect holder for your Apple Lightning cable and other types of cables? amazing, but true. we just tried it ourselves and for a moment, little Han Solo was holding one of our many Lightning cables. who knew, right? pure coincidence that LEGO lovers could work to their advantage (you bet we will be doing it!). but that’s just one part of the ‘hack’ Sugru community member 2Spinout came up with. the other involves sticking a LEGO plate (or brick, if you prefer) to side of the desk and attaching the LEGO minifig(s) to the plate and boom, you got yourself a unique cable management solution. pretty clever, eh? yeah. we would think so.

2Spinout also propose using a Technic brick as a keychain. you provide the keyring with your keys or car remote, and it could join your cable management minifigure(s) on the LEGO plate. a word a warning though, the plastic claw-like hands of your tiny friends will get subtly expanded to accommodate cables slight thicker than Apple Lightning connector (such as the MacBook Pro charging cord), but we fear it may permanently expand them. it will hold, though, but like all life hacks, however small, do it only when you know what you are doing. i wouldn’t use one-off or super rare minifigures, though.
