honestly, we are not a fan of camping in the wilderness cos’ we don’t like the idea of piloting a huge camper across the country and plus, we are not as comfortable with large vehicles as we are with small compacts. that’s where the MINI Clubvan Concept, a MINI with a specially designed caravan in tow, will fill the gap. the Cowley caravan, as it is called, has everything you will need for your next pit stop in the wilderness, including a twin sleeping berth, a twin-burner gas stove, a water tank complete with pump and dish washing facility, a solar module for juicing up the onboard battery and a 230-volt power supply to power the fridge, TV/DVD and HiFi stereo system. all these features packed into a (sweeping) stylish package that is just 12cm (4.7-inch) wider than a MINI Clubman mirror to mirror and weighs under 300 kilograms (661 pounds). for those who love traveling light, you can opt for the Swindon roof-top tent instead of having a caravan in tow. as the name implies, is a tent that can be fitted on to the roof of a MINI, MINI Clubman or MINI Countryman. it offers sleeping space for two with the advantage of being elevated (it’s on the roof, remember?), thus keeping those native inhabitants like insects and animals from gatecrashing your wilderness slumber party. when not in use, the tent folds down into a slimline roof-top tent box that blends seamlessly with your MINI. available this month. hit the jump for a gallery of the MINI Clubvan Concept.
