Fans of Sean Wotherspoon, adidas, and Hot Wheels collectors will be delighted to know that the Los Angeles-based designer best known for his prolific sneaker designs has teamed up with adidas Originals and die-cast toy car maker Hot Wheels to realize a new Sean Wotherspoon x adidas x Hot Wheels collection.
The race-inspired Sean Wotherspoon x adidas x Hot Wheels Collection with bold colors and in-your-face graphics includes apparel like a race jacket, long sleeve mesh t-shirt, cotton tee, trail shorts, a bucket hat, and a reversible tote bag.
The collection also includes a pair of kicks, an updated Superturf Adventure shoe with detachable patches, and an expressive take on adidas’ classic slider the Adilette.
Finally, there is, of course, the die-cast toy car, which in this case is a Deora II. The Sean Wotherspoon x adidas x Hot Wheels Deora II Vehicle is inspired by the Superturf sneaker and is covered in Wotherspoon’s signature flower motif, along with a neat gimmick: changing colors when in contact with warm or cold water. Snazzy but seriously, will you bear to remove it from its beautiful blister pack? I know I won’t.
The Sean Wotherspoon x adidas x Hot Wheels collection and the Sean Wotherspoon x adidas x Hot Wheels Deora II Vehicle will drop on August 25. The latter will be available from Creations.mattel.com for US$30 while the collection will be available from select retailers, also on August 25.
However, eager fans and collectors of adidas and Sean Wotherspoon’s works will want to know that the collection is live today (August 18) exclusively on Confirmed and in Sean’s Round 2 store. Meanwhile, the footwear article signups also start today and are available globally through adidas.com and select retailers on August 25th.
