You may remember the Segway eMoped C80 revealed by Ninebot late last year and more recently, as a Christian Cowan-touched scooter. Today, Segway is bringing it to the stateside and you can secure a unit by pre-ordering it for just US$1,899. That’s quite a steal for an eMoped coming from a reputed brand.

Segway Ninebot eMoped C80 Electric Bicycle

Billed as the first-ever Moped-style eBike by Segway, the eMoped C80 is loaded with features, including an AirLock for remote unlock with a smartphone, NFC tag for quick unlocking of vehicle (it can also auto unlock by recognizing paired phone), auto cruise, auto-lock that automatically locks the vehicle in 1,3,5 or 10 seconds, smart seat detection, and mobile app integration.

The ride is outfitted with a 48 V 24 Ah battery good for 52.8 miles (85 km) range on a single charge and it has a payload of 170 lbs (77 kg). It is powered by a powerful 750 W brushless electric motor enables it a top speed of 20 mph (32 kmh).

It further boasts front disc brake, rear drum brake, regenerative braking, LED dashboard, IPX3 rated construction, IP67 battery, LED lights all round, and built-in GPS for location tracking.

If I did not read wrongly, this version of C80 appears to be more powerful than the one which was marketed in China. I could be wrong, though.

Anywho, last checked, only 3 units are left US$1,899. You can choose to buy more than a unit and the more units you buy, the per unit price will be slightly cheaper. If you are interested, you may pre-order the Segway eMoped C80 on Indiegogo. The campaign is funded and delivery is estimated to happen sometime in November 2020.
