Star Wars Day at Sea by Disney Cruise

Is there a relation between Star Wars and the open water? Hardly. In fact, we hardly see anything remotely larger than a tub full of water in the first few episodes, but here on Earth, we do celebrate their ‘existence’ on open water. Well, at least that’s what the hugely popular movie franchise’s new owner Disney will be doing. So what’s the occasion that calls for such celebratory cruise? Nothing in writing from Disney actually, but we’re going to guess it is to mark the studio’s first Star Wars flick, which is set to hit the theaters later this year, after the acquisition. But I am sure the ‘why’ doesn’t really matters if you are a super fan. Right? Slated to happen, starting in January 2016. Disney Cruise Line guests will be able to set sale to the Western Caribbean with their favorite characters from the last six episodes of Star Wars.

It will be the first over water experience for those heroes and villains, so be nice to them cos’ they may get pretty nervous when they are over anything other than vacuum. Just kidding. Expect to see the dark lord himself, Darth Vader, Stormtroopers, Chewbacca, Boba Fett and more onboard the cruise ship during the day-long celebration which they will be roaming around the deck to provide fans with some ‘eye candy’, plus there are a bunch of Star Wars-related activities catering to the young and old to fill the days. One such activity is the Jedi Training Academy where kids are invited to be young Padawans, to be trained in the art of lightsaber wielding and whatnot.

Accompanying the activities are Star Wars-themed arts and crafts and games, and specifically for adults, there is a night club dressed to look like Mos Eisley, complete with characters (likely aliens, though not real ones) and also the mandatory can’t-get-out-of-your-head catina music. There is even Star Wars-themed specialty cocktails too. Though we are not sure what Mos Eisley’s blends taste like. A little bit alien-ish, I suppose? The first six Star Wars films and the new Disney XD animated series, Star Wars Rebels will be screen onboard as well. Finally, expect yourself to immerse in meet-and-greet session with the characters where you can get to grab their autographs. Hmmm. Does Vader even knows how to write? All he does was bark command and choke people over the air, right?

Anywho, Star Wars Day at Sea will be on Disney Fantasy cruises sailing on January 9, 23; February 6, 20; March 5, 19; April 2 and 16, 2016. The ship will depart from Port Canaveral for a seven-night Western Caribbean cruise which will see the ship (note ship and not Star Destroyer) popping by Cozumel, Mexico; Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands and Disney’s private island in the Bahamas, Castaway Cay.
