Meanwhile Segway’s parent company Ninebot is not only also selling the Bumblebee Segway Gokart Pro Limited Edition in China at its official Ninebot flagship store on JD.com but it also has another variant which has not been announced in NA and that’s the Optimus Prime Gokart Pro Limited Edition.
As expected, the Segway/Ninebot Gokart Pro has been given the Optimus Prime Gokart Pro Limited Edition the iconic red-and-blue Optimus colors, and slapped with some cybertronian-style electronic circuit motifs, along with Transformers branding and logo. This time around, Optimus Prime’s name can be found printed on the left side of the seat while the opposite looks like the leader of the Autobots’ name printed in Cybertronian language.
Around the back of the seat is an image of Optimus Prime head and below it, is yet another set of Cybertronian language, presumably spelling out Optimus Prime. Beyond the Optimus Prime/Transformers cosmetics, the Optimus Prime Segway Gokart Pro Limited Edition is pretty much the Segway/Ninebot Gokart Pro as it is known in China.
This means a top speed of up to 40 km/h (25 mph) and 1.02G of acceleration, up to 96 Nm (71 lb-ft) of torque, and up to 25 km (16 miles) range on a single charge. The go-kart further boasts adjustable chassis length to accommodate heights of 1.3-1.9 m (4’ 3” to 6’ 3”), an adjustable (height-wise) steering weight, a 40:60 weight distribution, app integration, an onboard Bluetooth speaker with wireless audio streaming capability, and more.
It has four modes of driving, Safety Mode, Novice Mode, Sport Mode, and Race Track Mode. The driving mode will have an impact on the max speed, such as in the Safety Mode, speed is limited to just 8 km/h (4.87 mph), the Novice is limited to 18 km/h (11.2 mph), while the Sport and Race Track, maxes out at 28 km/h (17.4 mph) and 40 km/h (25 mph), respectively.
The Gokart has sound effects too. In addition to mimicking single- and two-cylinder engine, V8 engine, and V12 engine sounds, it further touts exclusive Transformers startup sound effects.
Like the Bumblebee Segway Gokart Pro Limited Edition and the Megatron Segway GT2 Scooter, it comes with a plaque engraved with the unique serial number.
The Optimus Prime Segway Gokart Pro Limited Edition is available to buy now in China from the Ninebot flagship store on JD.com for 10,999 RMB (about US$1,533 today).
