I feel strange telling you about how Bandai Namco has just revealed the Ultraman Season 2 Blu-ray Box in Japan when Season 3 is already streaming. But here it is anyways, the Ultraman Season 2 Blu-ray Box Set. Two versions are being offered: the Ultraman Season 2 Blu-ray Box Special Limited Edition and the Ultraman Season 2 Blu-ray Box Limited Edition (First Press Limited Edition).
The contents are almost identical except the latter comes with an additional limited Blu-ray disc that the music videos of the series music composed by renowned British Academy Awards-nominated film score composers and producers Nobuko Toda and Kazuma Jinnouchi.
Moreover, the Ultraman Season 2 Blu-ray Box Limited Edition (First Press Limited Edition) is being sold as first-run limited production copies exclusively on Premium Bandai [JP] and A-On Store [JP] for a slightly pricier 22,000 yen (about US$155).
Common highlights include 2 Blu-ray discs containing episodes 1 to 6 as they were distributed on Netflix in April 2022, a bonus Blu-ray special disc featuring a complete recording of interviews on the making of the new series, including original writer, director, and voice cast discussing Season 2, and non-credit opening and non-credit ending, as well as promotion video archives.
Fans can also find original manga drawn by Eiichi Shimizu x Tomohiro Shimoguchi on the disc too. Finally, a 44-page literature Ultraman Season 2 Original Booklet is included in the box set. Both box sets are presented in a high-quality material box featuring the original illustration by Eiichi Shimizu x Tomohiro Shimoguchi.
All told, the Ultraman Season 2 Blu-ray Box Set contains no less than 208 minutes of content, with the main discs packing in 144 minutes and the bonus disc, 136 minutes. Pictures are in Full HD and in 16:9 aspect ratio with Japanese subtitles while audio supported includes DTS-HD Master Audio (5.1ch), linear PCM (stereo)/AVC/BD25G x 2.
The Ultraman Season 2 Blu-ray Box Special Limited Edition sells for 19,800 yen in Japan (around US$139). Unfortunately, both editions appear to be available only in Japan.
