Almost every company knows how to make a face mask. Razer is no exception. However, the gaming lifestyle company has up the game with a concept smart mask, known as Project Hazel.
Project Hazel is a concept smart mask that has practical mask features and tech imaginable. Project Hazel Smart Mask is transparent to allow for facial expression to be seen – even in the dark – thanks to the interior lights that activate automatically in the dark.
The mask also addressed a critical issue with wearing a face mask: muffle voices. It boasts a new, patent-pending Razer VoiceAmp Technology that uses built-in microphone and amplifier to enhance user’s speech. Hopefully, it will not sound like Bane.
In addition, the mask is designed to solve the environmental issues of disposal masks; it is made of plastic with silicone lining and has adjustable ear loops to fit virtual any face size.
The mask is outfitted with N95 medical-grade respirator protection using detachable and rechargeable active ventilators and Smart Pods for regulating airflow.
The high bacterial filtration efficiency (BFE) Smart Pods is capable of filtering at least 95% of airborne particulates.
The disc-type ventilators are replaceable and they can be sanitized of bacteria and viruses by placing inside the dual-purpose wireless fast charging box with disinfecting UV-light interior. Razer said a full charge will get you all-day use.
Finally, Project Smart Mask is, of course, Razer Chroma-enabled because, why not? This allow wearers to activate two customizable Razer Chroma RGB lighting zones that offer 16.8 million colors and a suite of dynamic lighting effects.
Razer Project Hazel Smart Mask is still being developed and there’s no telling when it will materialize.
The mask was revealed at the on-going virtual CES 2021. In the meantime, you can learn more about Project Hazel HERE.
