Sariel’s LEGO RC 1970 Porsche 917K

Sariel, the person known for whipping incredibly detailed remote control custom LEGO vehicles is back and this time, he made a LEGO RC 1970 Porsche 917K and believe me, this creation easily blast original offerings from LEGO out of water for accuracy. I mean, LEGO Technic set like the Bugatti Chiron accurately recreated the form, but the Technic pieces just made them look a little too ’technical’. Too many crevices and openings here and there.

Sariel’s LEGO RC 1970 Porsche 917K, on the other hand, looks like scale model replica that isn’t made out of LEGO. It has minimal ‘crevices and openings’ where it shouldn’t have, and it has a super dope metallic gold engine, plated by Chrome Block City. Equally impressive is the creation of the color and the racing livery using rare medium blue and orange pieces which faithfully recreated the iconic racing livery on the 1970 race car.

The details on this custom built LEGO RC car is beyond meticulous. It has everything, right down to the scissor doors and the ‘short tail’ that help this car crush the 1970 racing season, winning 7 out of 8 races. Sariel’s LEGO RC 1970 Porsche 917K is powered and remotely controlled with BuWizz 2.0 and boy, was it strangely satisfying see a brick built LEGO RC 1970 Porsche 917K zooming on the tarmac, weaving around full-size vehicles.
