we have seen a few interesting concepts of how to ride on what the nature has to offer, namely fire and heat, to charge your portable gadgets, such as the CampStove, the FlameStower, and of course, the usual solar chargers, and now Hydrobee joins the rank with an interesting proposal: using the power of running water to charge up a portable battery that could be used to charge virtually any USB-powered devices.
since the beginning of time, invisibility has rank among the highs of man’s wants and unless you are involved in some military superpower top secret invisibility projects, the likelihood that you will ever see the light (or not see?) is next to zero. so for the mere mortals, Optics Planet has the Invisible Man Kit
and we thought hydrogen-based portable charging device has dropped off the chart. well, apparently it hasn’t. the Brunton Hydrogen Reactor Portable Power Pack is just one of them and it is one handy off-the-grid power supply for those who prefer not to put their mobile devices to the risk of fire, or extreme heat.
the BioLite CampStove is no doubt one of the coolest camping gear we have seen, but a stove itself won’t do any good if you don’t have a pot or kettle or maybe a grill or something to go with it. well, i guess the grill part is a non-issue since the introduction of the Portable Grill and so, all there is left is to decide whether to lug along a pot or a kettle, or both.
we are not sure if pooping, photography, and hanging a lantern are the three things every outdoor adventurer would be doing, but if you think these three activities are seriously must-do things, then we suspect you might fancy the Twig Pod Kit. this three-in-one tool is actually a collapsible stick that works as a monopod with ball
if given a choice, we would go for hammock instead of the traditional tents. call us paranoia, but getting in bed with creepy crawlies or any form of wild life is definitely not our idea of fun in the wild. though hammock’s good, we are still bothered by the weather and the one other thing:
we didn’t quite touch on the Eddie Bauer Katabatic 2 Solar Tent when we featured the Goal Zero Lighthouse 250 Lantern cos’ we didn’t have much info and most importantly, we didn’t have at least a decent image to show. now that we have more info, we thought we should be talking about it, cos’ we didn’t have much info and
even the so-called adventure purists can’t live without electronics gears when out in the wild as evidence by the existence of gadgets like satellite phones (which has been around for decades) and for that, we have reasons to believe that average folks like us would not fancy living without power – even though we might not even have
planning to stay off the grid for a while? then we suggest you check out this handsome little outdoor gadget called the Lighthouse 250 Lantern and USB Power Hub by Goal Zero. yes. it is a lantern and yes, it is a pretty good looking one. apart from the obvious like providing up to 48 hours of 250 lumen of lighting when fully charged, this nifty
pressurized water is something outdoor enthusiasts yearned for while average joe like us take for granted. having pressurized water source while out in wild offers lot of conveniences like ease of washing cookware, getting rid of mud of your feet et cetera. sure, you could use a regular water bottle, but that’s going to take
we have featured quite a handful of survivalist icon Bear Grylls and Gerber collaborations including the awesome canteen and the scout essentials kit et cetera, but if you are looking to bag the whole lot that Gerber and Bear Grylls have to offer (trust me, Gerber and Bear Grylls have tons of survival gear for
