Remember the Katsugyo Bag by Ma Corporation from Japan? It was designed to keep fish fresh (i.e. alive) and not so much for taking pet fishes out for a walk. The Fish Tank Stroller, however, is.
Designed and cobbled together by Taiwan-based maker and YouTube personality Jerry Huang (not that Jerry Huang, btw), the Fish Tank Stroller is purpose-designed from the ground up to walk pet fishes.
I guess you could say Jerry’s Fish Tank Stroller is a pet version of the Katsugyo Bag but with more consideration of the user’s arm muscle because it was mounted on a custom stroller for, well, easy walking.
The concept of a portable aquarium around is not new. Previously, there was an aquarium backpack but that is obviously far less sophisticated. Jerry’s Fish Tank Stroller is built with steel square tubes welded together and rolls on Go-kart front wheels and castor wheels.
Having a stroller not makes it easy to walk the fish but also affords the space for an air pump/water filter necessary to keep the water aerated and clean. The Fish Tank Stroller is rounded up with a power supply, a bank of switches, LED light strips, and a cup holder.
There’s even a spare space for a small picnic basket, making this the perfect gear for a day out in the park with your beloved fishes.
For the purpose of the project, Jerry acquired three goldfishes from his friend’s aquarium in Taizhong. The tank is only good for small ornamental aquatic animals like goldfishes, so it looks like a floating fish dome is the only hope for larger species like Koi to have a taste of the outside world.
The Fish Tank Stroller is an experimental project that has taken many considerations to ensure the fishes’ being. After the project is done, the fishes join the rest of Huang’s goldfishes at his home.
